Small and sturdy, completely handmade leather pouch with delicate engraving fishbone pattern.
The hard leather strip (brown with fishbone pattern) is crafted from high-quality vegetable-tanned leather. The design is first carved into the leather and then painted with top-quality colors. Two delicate finishes enrich the color and add water resistance to the color.
The inner part (light orange) is made from softer and more pliable chrome-tanned leather. Both parts are sewn together by hand using extra durable saddle stitch, which is stronger than any machine stitch.
The pouch has belt loop on the back side. If you have extra wide belt, check “Product data” tab for maximum belt width that fits into this particular loop.
Combination of drawstring top and glove stud fastening ensures that your jewels and coins are kept safe on your belt during festival, ritual or LARP adventure.
Care & Storage
We use mainly cow leather for our products. During the animal’s lifetime, the skin is kept nourished with continuously replenishing natural oils. Once an animal skin undergoes transformation into leather, we need to add those oils so the skin doesn´t crack. Flexibility can be retained by topping up with lubricating oils and waxes. You can use olive oil, leather balm (available in any shop with leather clothes/shoes) or any other product designed for leather care.
- Using a clean, slightly damp cloth, gently wipe down your leather to remove any visible dirt so nothing gets caught in the leather pores.
- Allow to air-dry. Do not dry using and external sources of heat like ovens of hair dryers.
- Start with a small, fingernail sized amount of olive oil or leather balm on a clean, dry cloth. You can also you your hand to apply the oil or balm. Start with smaller amounts, you can always add more.
- Test small amount on a hidden patch of leather to preview results. If everything look fine, you can start gently rubbing the oil into the leather using a circular motion.
- The leather will start to absorb the oil or balm immediately. The appearance may initially darken, but over the next 24 hours, it will return to its natural state.
Repeat this procedure at least once a year, or more often if the item is exposed to heavy use. Additionally, always follow these rules:
- Never wash leather in washing machine.
- Never use chemical cleaning products on leather. Make sure all products are specially designed for leather care (except olive oil)
- Store the leather in a dark, dry place. Avoid continuous exposure to direct sunlight as it dries the surface and makes it more prone to cracking.
Custom-made Pouch
We can craft custom-made pouch for you, but there are several important details:
- As each item is handmade, certain details can differ from the product on display.
- The color of vegetable-tanned leather is customizable. As we mix our own colors for this purpose, we cannot guarantee using the same color as on the pictures.
- The color of the chrome-tanned leather depends on what leather we have in stock. Contact us for details.
Adding initials to the belt loop is possible.
- Delivery time will be extended by 1 – 4 weeks, depending on how busy we are.
Important!
- Please note that by buying custom-made product, you give up your right to get a refund according to our Refund and Returns Policy. However, if you are not satisfied with the product, we will try to solve that on idividual basis depending on how the product is resellable. For example, product in green instead of red can be resellable (you may get a refund), but product with engraved initials is never resellable (unfortunately no refund).
- Complaints Code is still applicable for custom-made items (Complaints code covers faulty items caused by us or delivery service).
