Sturdy drinking horn with engraved and painted design of Aegishjalmur in red color along with traditional nordic golden engraving. There are three Aegishjalmur symbols, one in front being slightly bigger. They are painted in red color which resebmbles blood, because it used to be traditional color for runes and magical staves in the ancient times.

Aegishjalmur, or Ægishjálmr in Old Norse, meaning Helm of Awe, was a symbol used to protect warriors and instill fear in their enemies. Although there are several mentions of this magical stave (galdrastafir) in Poetic Edda, the graphic symbol first appeared in icelandic Huld Manuscript from 1847. Today it is used as an universal protection symbol.

The design is first engraved into the horn and then painted in very resilient red and golden color. This process ensures long lasting quality of color which is almost impossible to scrape off. The colors used are waterproof acrylic colors.
